Introduction
Moving from Facebook to In-App is a path that many media buyers are currently taking.
However, for most, it becomes a chaotic process with new auctions, different metrics, and unpredictable results. What worked well in Facebook often doesn't translate to In-App.
Today, we will showcase the case of the TrafficHood team, who managed to navigate this journey quickly and efficiently with the help of our AI-powered Profit Mentor.
He automated analytics, understood the indicators, and helped optimize campaigns so that tests didn't drain the budget but resulted in profit. Read the details below, let's go!
— Hey, guys! Tell us a little bit about yourselves. What was your team doing before joining In-App?
Hello, hello! We worked with Facebook in the gambling vertical. The main focus was on PWA apps.
— How did you end up in In-App, and what was the most challenging part of the transition?
We were looking for additional sources of scaling. In-App was a completely new direction for us: we didn't have any experienced specialists or understanding of how it works internally or what approaches are effective. Previously, we had only worked with PWA, but In-App is a completely different story with its own tracking logic, user behavior, and principles of unwrapping. However, the interest and feedback from our colleagues about Moloco outweighed our fears, and we decided to take on the challenge.
— How did you find Profit Rental, and why did you decide to work with us?
We were looking for a place to rent offices for In-app on favorable terms, and we came across some guys on the Internet — we looked at cases, reviews, and became interested. We called them, met them, and decided to start working.
— How was your start with Profit Rental? What do you remember about the beginning?
To be honest, we expected that we would just get access to the account, the guide, and deal with the source ourselves.
But the guys really got involved in the process: they called us, explained all the nuances before the launch, helped us choose the right app, and even recommended reliable rental services.
During the call, they went through the settings in the account together, showing us where to enable things, which helped us clarify a lot of questions before the first launch.
– Let’s get to the point: how did you start working with Profit Mentor?
When we were given an account for Moloco, we immediately connected the Profit Mentor bot.
During one of our calls, Kostya, the support manager, explained the product and its features, especially those that help beginners quickly understand and optimize their campaigns without unnecessary routine.
– Were there any moments when you doubted the bot’s performance? What helped you to make sure that it works?
At first, we thought it was just a cool feature. But after we started working with it, when it started giving us accurate recommendations and fixing errors that actually worked, we realized that it was a really cool bot. It tells you where to look, what to fix, and where you're losing money.
— Tell us how you used Profit Mentor and how it really helped your team.
Profit Mentor helped us finally understand how Moloco works from the inside.
It shows the entire structure: Campaign → Creatives → Exchange → Inventory.*

*Once again, thank you to their support team, who explained in detail what Exchange and Inventory are, as Facebook has slightly different formats and functionality.
Now we clearly understand what we can manage: disabling creatives, cleaning the exchange, and collecting whitelists and blacklists for inventory.
Previously, we simply launched a campaign and hoped for the best, but now we have real control over the process and manage the unsubscribes.
Additionally, the bot has helped us understand traffic analysis. It shows what to disable and what to keep, and we stopped acting at random. Now we understand when it's really time to disable campaigns and when to just wait.
For example, one exchange can include hundreds or even thousands of inventory.
And one inventory is one app. If you cut an exchange without data, it's like cutting off a hand when you only needed to cut off a finger 😄.
The bot also provided specific recommendations when a campaign deviates from the norm, suggesting adjustments to avoid budget leaks. The bot also provided targeted recommendations when the campaign went beyond the norm. For example, it noticed that our video endcards generated by Moloco looked too formulaic and suggested replacing them with custom ones. As a result, conversions actually increased.
Deviation in CPI and/or CR in the installation
It also compares the results with the current GEO auction benchmarks, which is a game-changer:
  • A CTR of 20% versus the market average of 35% indicates weak creative or an incorrect audience.
  • CPI $3.5 vs. $2 — it can be bought cheaper, and there is potential for optimization.
We used to work on specific GEO: Germany, Poland. And quickly noticed that the purchase in Moloco and Facebook for one country can vary greatly in price and envelope. Bot reports with benchmarks helped understand when everything is normal and when you need to slow down and review the bundle.
Profit Mentor's Ad Accounts Analysis
We learned to make decisions quickly and turn off what doesn't work. This helped a lot, especially when we started testing new, less familiar GEOs. On the second or third day of testing, we simply requested a report, compared our metrics with the norm, and made decisions about what to push and what to stop.
– Now let's talk about the results: what have you achieved?
We came with a test budget of $1,000, just to see if the source worked and how to interact with it. After a month and a half, our monthly spend had grown to $50,000.
Spend: at the start of campaign
Spend: after 6 weeks
Profit Mentor really helped us not to lose money on tests: it's clear what to scale and what to disable. We were able to optimize campaigns at every level: creatives, exchange, and inventory.
Comparing with GEO benchmarks allowed us to understand where there is potential and where we need to refine our approach. We made decisions faster, without constant calls and manual analysis. Yes, many teams have much higher spends, but we believe that this result is excellent for a team that has just joined In-App.
– What advice would you give to beginners who are switching to In‑App?
Start with a clear goal and KPI, use Profit Mentor as a source of analytics and operational correction, and record results at each stage to see the dynamics. And don't be afraid that In-App has a different logic than other sources.
– What's next? What are your plans for the future, and how will you maintain the momentum of growth?
We will continue to use the functionality through Profit Mentor: deepen GEO analytics, expand whitelist/blacklist, and improve funnel and ROI forecasts. We plan to maintain the scaling bar and test new hypotheses to maintain our pace and confidence in our decisions.
Conclusion
With the right tool and strategy, In-App is no longer a "dark forest." Profit Mentor turns uncertainty into manageable growth and real results. Your path to scaling and profit begins with the right analytics and instant feedback on your decisions. Profit Mentor accelerates this journey by allowing you to monitor campaigns, view real-time analytics, and make informed decisions.
